Welcome to Haus Concrete

We're thrilled to have you join us on this journey of exploration and creativity. At Haus Concrete, we believe in showcasing the beauty of concrete through minimalist design and sustainable practices.

Meet the Maker(s)

Who doesn't love putting a face to the brand? Running a small business is a deeply personal endeavour, so allow me to lift the metaphorical curtain: I'm Paul, and this lot here is my tribe—my wonderful wife Lauren and our two pint-sized CEOs, Joshua and Max.

Like most family businesses, Haus Concrete was established to achieve a work-life balance, accommodating not just the boys' tantrums but also endless hours of football, golf, and rugby.

With a combined 30 years of experience in Construction and Digital Marketing, we took the plunge to integrate our professional backgrounds, resulting in what you now see as Haus Concrete.

"How do you work together?" Well, the answer varies as much as the British weather, but the flexibility makes it worthwhile—most of the time!

Our samples

Say hello to Mushroom Mauve, Oyster, Pearl, Agate Grey, Wave, Wisteria, Baked and Fuscia. The top of the pieces have been sealed and the sides and underneath have been left unsealed so you can gauge the variance between the different finishes. The number of finishes for concrete are vast but these pieces have been lightly processed. The improvements in the chemistry of the product means this is more feasible, where as, historically, the piece/s would require a slurry grout to even out the army of pinholes which would then need to be polished/processed and repeated until smooth.

Drawing from Milan Design Week

Inspiration is everywhere, and for us, Milan Design Week is a treasure trove of creativity. Drawing from the sleek curves and vibrant colours showcased at this renowned event, we're excited to infuse our upcoming projects with a touch of Milanese flair. Expect to see innovative designs that captivate the senses and push the boundaries of what concrete can achieve. This is reflected in the samples pack that only contains one shade of grey but palettes of pinks and blues instead.

Minimalist Packaging, Maximum Impact

Our commitment to sustainability starts with our packaging and small improvements make a big difference. In 2022 alone, a staggering 161 billion parcels were sent worldwide. By embracing minimal packaging and digital communication, we're doing our part to minimise this impact and pave the way for a greener future. Each sample set is carefully encased in sheep wool insulation, biodegradable twine and recycled cardboard, ensuring that our environmental footprint stays as minimal as possible. By choosing recycled materials, we're not only reducing waste but also embracing a greener approach to postage and packaging. We had to make the difficult decision to sacrifice luxury for sustainability and instead of cluttering your mailbox with excess paper, we've opted for a sleek QR code. It's our small way of reducing paper waste and embracing the power of digital innovation.

The Sustainable Future of Concrete

While concrete is a versatile material, it still has strides to make in reducing its carbon footprint. However, we're proud to say that the industry is heading in the right direction. With innovations in production methods and a focus on sustainable sourcing, concrete is becoming an increasingly eco-friendly choice for design projects.

At Haus, we're dedicated to conserving resources wherever possible. That's why we're just about to  implement a grey water harvesting system in our workshop. This system allows us to reuse water for polishing concrete and cleaning down materials, significantly reducing our water consumption and environmental impact.

Innovative Bench Design

We're excited to announce our collaboration with an architect on a concrete bench scheme. In this project, we're able to reduce the thickness of the benches drastically thus reducing the amount of concrete used and by utilising recycled plastic slats for the seating instead of timber, we're helping to transform would be waste into functionality.
