It isn't often that we meet our clients. Meetings and design plans are dealt with mainly through their PAs, architects or with their interior designer directly. On the days when we do get to visit our client in person, it's often a lavish affair and an experience that we often do not forget.

It's a cold winter morning in December. Our 10-seater concrete dining table was delivered to our client's home last week, arriving just in time for Christmas. Delighted with their latest installation, we are invited for coffee and a meeting to discuss an order for more pieces of concrete furniture.

I am pressing the buzzer of the double-fronted white nineteenth-century townhouse in west London.

Once inside, I am led down the hall by our client's PA.
